In my work I am exploring the connections between the aural traditions of allegory and storytelling with visual narrative. I am fascinated by the sense of prehistory and the connection between the distant past and the current mysteries of our lives.

My inspiration is taken from the people I meet, the stories they tell and sometimes don't tell, their dreams and how we all interact to form relationships with each other, our animals and with the natural world.

 I am interested in, and concerned with the point at which the figurative meets the abstract, where world-making meets reality.

Having spent all of my working life as an architect this has helped me tune my eye and focus on capturing detail.

My work spans;

Painting in watercolours, acrylic and oils.

Printing using wood engraving, wood cuts, etching, silk screen, monoprints and lino cuts
